Bishop Jerry D. Wright

Dr. Jerry D. Wright is the founder and senior pastor of Greater Grace Temple Apostolic Church in Anderson, Indiana.  Jerry D. Wright was baptized in the name of Jesus and received the gift of the Holy Ghost in 1976.  He has been ordained an Elder, District Elder, and most recently Suffragan Bishop within the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. 

As a member of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. (PAW), Jerry D. Wright has served the 4th Episcopal District under the leadership of the Honorable Bishops Charles Watkins and James E. Tyson as deacon, president of the local bulletin staff, president of the local building fund, president of the local men’s ministry, State Men’s Ministry President (2 terms), and State Men’s Ministry Vice President (2 terms).

Through his work on the Board of Directors of the International Missions Department of the PAW, Dr. Jerry Wright was elevated in 2002 to the position of District Elder in the 53rd Episcopal District of the PAW (Cameroon, Africa) of the PAW where the Diocesan Bishop is the honorable Charles A. Sims.  In 2004, Dr. Wright was elevated again to the position of Suffragan Bishop to the 54th Episcopal District of the PAW (Dominican Republic) where the Diocesan Bishop is the honorable Moses E. Butler.  Dr. Wright currently serves as Treasurer to the Board of Directors of the International Missions Department.

Dr. Wright is an active and outstanding member of his church and community.  He has a host of degrees from several colleges, universities and seminary including Aenon Bible College, Ball State University, Anderson University, and Calvary Midwest Bible College and Theological Seminary.

Wright loves playing basketball and spending time with his family.  He retired from the General Motors Corporation where he served for more than 30 years as a tool and dye maker and skilled tradesman.  Jerry D. Wright is the husband of Evangelist Josephine Wright.  Together, they serve in ministry evangelizing and preaching the gospel across the country and around the world.  The two have been happily married for 30+ years.  They are the proud parents of eight sons; Jerryl D., Jr., Jerrell D. (April), Jeffrey D., Jason D. (Tiffany R.), Jermaine D., Jamie D., Jonathan D., and Justin D.  They are the grandparents of seven grandchildren.
